This is a diode pumped YAG laser gain module made by Northrop Grumman. Note that this is just the gain block and will need HR and OC mirrors to form a complete resonator. This is an OEM version of model RBAT24 made for use in JDSU / Lumentum Q-series lasers. Compared to an off the shelf unit these have no hour counter and the water ports on the bottom rather than hose barbs on the back.
This unit is mounted to a water manifold with hose barbs for coolant. It is configured with 5 arrays of 4 20W pump diodes for a total of 400W of pump power. These use a rod that is doped with 0.5% Chromium and 0.5% Neodymium which give it a green color. CrNd:YAG has a broader absorption than Nd:YAG which is useful for lasers with water cooled pump diodes where it's hard to keep the diode temperature stable.

I've tested the diodes at very low current to verify that they are working. I don't have a way to test them at full pump power, but expect they are fine. Note that these must have flowing coolant before being powered up or they will be quickly destroyed. Coolant is connected via ports on the bottom of the unit.
