FIELD OF DREAMS early draft 1987 KEVIN COSTNER

Description

This classic film underwent a lengthy development process as well as a title change after filming was completed.  FIELD OF DREAMS is based on the novel, SHOELESS JOE, and all drafts of the scripts retained this title.  Even though the film was ultimately produced and released by Universal, this draft, a revised first draft dated September 8, 1987 and at the time was in development at 20th Century Fox.
The script is all white pages and a total of 116 pages.  It has a blue cardstock cover with the original title SHOELESS JOE and someone wrote FIELD OF DREAMS in capital letters.  I am not certain if this is an original, but the fact that the later title is written on the cover and some black dot spotting leads me to believe it is not.  The script itself shows signs of aging dating back to the era, and as it is an early draft, it was produced prior to assigning the scene numbers also gives it a unique distinction.
Regardless of it's origination, this early draft itself is somewhat rare and is being sold as is.
